Johannesburg 16 August 2010
All relationships, no matter what they are or with whom, are solely dependent on the effectiveness of the communication within that relationship.
Communication is more about understanding and being understood , than it is about being able to speak well. In this workshop you will learn to understand and to be understood clearly the first time.
Without well-developed communication, success in relationships is impossible. Poor communication leads to de-motivation, staff resignations, bad morale and loss of productivity.
You will learn:
- To deal assertively with difficult people
- To communicate clearly and concisely
- To identify barriers to communication
- To use effective listening skills
- To apply non-verbal skills
- To communicate effectively with different people
- To devise and apply strategies to establish productive relationships with colleagues and managers
- The main sources of conflict
- Appropriate conflict management techniques
- How to implement a strategy to resolve conflict
- The attributes of a good conflict manager
- To confront conflict situations assertively
- To deal effectively with personality clashes
- To act as a mediator
- To deal with conflict situations as they arise in order to prevent the conflict from escalating
- To influence and persuade
- To give and receive feedback effectively
- To recognise the importance of understanding cultural differences and working successfully in a global environment
