Mark is passionate about productivity in people. His main philosophy is not at all unusual - Productivity = Competitiveness = Profits = Company Growth = Increased Employment = Broader Tax Base = Healthy Economy.
Research has shown that many problems in the workforce stem from flawed selection processes, and badly selected and inadequately prepared managers. This where Mark's focus lies - in helping managers recruit the right people in the first place, and then showing them how to manage their staff in a manner that achieves the productivity required.
During the mid 80's Mark started Merit Business Institute, a company that teaches managers how to create an environment in which their staff WANT to perform. Merit Business Institute has gone from strength to strength and now numbers amongst its clients some of South Africa's biggest and smallest companies.
Mark has consulted to major corporations in South Africa, including Bytes Technology Group, First Rand Bank, Rand Merchant Bank Properties (Eris), Nampak, Lafarge and Isuzu Truck South Africa regarding the productive management of staff.
